    Careers Programme Summary

Throughout our taught curriculum we ensure that careers education and information around developing areas of employment are explored to ensure that our students are given the best opportunity of understanding the developing world of work. This is supplemented with careers days, specialist trips and information about the next steps students can take on their journey.

If you would like more information about our careers programme, please email vhoffman-gibbs@asadunstable.org

    What is CEIAG?

CEIAG stands for Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance and it is a statutory part of our provision for students. At All Saints Academy, we are committed to working with students, parents and carers to ensure the best life opportunities in the future.

What does the CEIAG offer at each particular Key Stage?

The programme of CEIAG is developed as students progress through the Academy with every year group receiving some provision to help them on their journey to success. Although all students are provided with independent careers guidance from Year 7 (11-12 year olds) to Year 13 (17-18 year olds) there is a particular focus at the various transition points e.g. in Year 8, when students are making option choices and in Year 11 when students are thinking about life after GCSE.

    Education, Information, Advice and Guidance

All Saints Academy Careers Education, Information and Guidance (CEIAG) will aim to provide current and relevant information to enable each student to make informed decisions about their future. It will be presented in an impartial manner, be confidential and differentiated to suit the requirements of each student.

The Careers Programme will be integrated into students’ experience of the whole curriculum and will be appropriate to our students’ stages of career learning, planning and development. The Careers Programme will raise aspirations, challenge stereotyping and promote equality and diversity.

What will the ASAD Careers Programme offer?

The Careers Programme will promote equality of opportunity, diversity and inclusion, whilst promoting the best interests of the students to whom it is given. All Saints Academy will ensure that all students are aware of opportunities outside of the Academy which could help them with their career aspirations, such as the National Citizen Service and other voluntary and community activities.

    In particular CEIAG will:-

    • provide resources and advice to enable students to understand and develop career choices and to ensure that careers education is seen as part of the overall curriculum and learning framework for all year groups
    • encourage students to achieve and to be ambitious
    • involve students and their parent/carers in the further development of careers work
    • work with 4YP UK and Student Services so that no student is disadvantaged in gaining access to education, training or work
