The OCR Cambridge Nationals are vocationally related qualifications that take an engaging, practical and inspiring approach to learning and assessment.They’re industry relevant, geared to key sector requirements and are very popular with schools and colleges because they suit such a broad range of learning styles and abilities.The new generation of Cambridge Nationals has been developed to ensure that they build upon the legacy and reputation of the existing qualifications, which are taught in over 3,000 centres.

    The Cambridge Nationals in ICT have been founded upon the recommendations of the Wolf Report and created in partnership with teachers, students, education specialists and industry leading employers.

    This collaborative approach has resulted in a qualification that offers students a solid foundation for their future studies and careers.

    Year 12 & 13 (Key Stage 5)

    We have a popular ICT A level course here at the Academy continuing with the OCR curriculum but taking the level of tasks and theory to a higher level. The opportunities this course offers enables pupils to expect a job within the ICT industry covering Business applications, WEB and HTML programming, Games programming using the ADOBE suite to Photography, considering the software applications available for manipulating digital images. Above all we like to develop independent learners at this level, encouraging the step to University. We conducted two University visits in the last academic year with our Year 12s and 13s giving them an insight into the world of the pinnacle of higher education.
