All Saints announces excellent review!

Our OfSTED style Review conducted by HMI this week has been tremendously successful. Of the 30 lessons observed, no fewer than 67% were Good or Outstanding. Of this figure, 17% were Outstanding, an incredibly high rating for a new school. No lessons were Inadequate. This profile broadly matches the national pattern and should result in some good student results in the summer examinations.

There are many positives. Teaching across all Key Stages is Good, Safeguarding is Good with some Outstanding features and the Quality of Provision is Good. Most impressive is Community Cohesion, rated as Good, which is very rare in a new institution. The work of the Governing Body is also Good. Leadership and Management, the Leadership of Teaching and Learning and the Capacity for Sustained Improvement are all seen as Good. This means that we have every chance to be an outstanding Academy in the not too distant future.

We are delighted that Care, Guidance and Support for students are seen as Good.

The Leadership of the Sixth Form is Good, and the Provision for Sixth Form learners is Good. This is most impressive in a new Sixth Form with a new Achievement Leader.

As Principal of All Saints, I am delighted with the outcomes of this Review, carried out under OfSTED conditions and criteria. Sponsors and Governors and staff have worked very hard with students and parents to give the Academy a great start. The results of this Review show that we are on track to become an outstanding Academy.

I look forward to some great results in August 2010!
